Historically, Naples was born by a greek colony called Neapolis and conquered by the romans in the IV ° cent. b.C.
Chosen, thanks to its warm climate and its beauties by Virgil, Augustus, Tiberius, Nero to spend winters.
Its gulf, its splendid landscapes, the deep blue colour of its sea, the Vesuvius Vulcan, the alleys and the houses sheering to the sea make of this area one of the most beautiful of Italy.
Even if we do not meet anymore the popular scenes that attracted tourists in the past, Naples and its surroundings are a world on their own: exuberant, funny, familiar, always in movement.
The profile of the Vesuvius, one of the few active vulcans in Europe never separates by the Neapolitan landscapes, along its slopes vineyards grew producing a very good and strong wine called “Lachrima Christi”, from its top it’s possible to have an immense panoramic view on the gulf of Naples and on the Sorrentine Peninsula.
It’s here that the Italian spirit in all its different looks takes place as on a theatre stage and it’s here that the writers of the past like Homer placed their literary works.
